Duroa 25th Annivesary and Chinese New Year Dinner

Damansara Utama Resident Owner Association (DUROA) celebrated its 25 years old bash in conjunction with the Chinese New Year on Saturday, 22nd Feb 2014 at the Dewan MBPJ Damansara Utama.

Damansara Utama Residents and Owners Association (DUROA) was formed in 1988 to represent the interests of the owners and residents in Damansara Utama. It's aim is to promote a Safe, Caring, and Harmonious Community.

The event started with a bang beginning with the Lion Dance and an opening address by DUROA's President, Rajes Raghavji Patel. Following that, there were speeches by ADUN YB Yeo Bee Yin, and PJ Zone 5 Councillor Teh Chi Chang.

Also present that day was our MP YB Tony Pua, CEO of See Hoy Chan, and representatives from Toyota dealer United Star S/B with the latter two being the event's corporate sponsors.

There was a good turnout from the residents. All the tickets were completely sold.

The hall was fully filled despite its air conditioning being the only let down. Even that, it did not bar the residents from having a splendid time.

After "makan" started, stage performances rolled out. Everyone had plenty to enjoy being entertained by professionals and also "up and coming" talents of the Childrens' Welfare Home, and DU Residents. There were lucky draws in between and plenty of good food to go around.

There were 2 tables allocated to children from a Welfare Home in Rembau, and the event managed to collect a donation for the Home amounting up to RM 1000.
